Who I Am

About Me

I am a structural engineer with a Master of Science from Texas A&M University and hands-on experience spanning research, design, and quality assurance. My work bridges the gap between rigorous academic analysis and real-world construction practice.

At the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, I led experimental anchor testing for a TxDOT research program — instrumenting specimens with fiber optic sensors and applying image analysis to characterize concrete-epoxy bond behavior. Prior to graduate school, I spent a year in industry at CCTEB India, designing structural frame systems and directing QA/QC operations across multiple concurrent projects.

I am deeply comfortable with the full structural engineering stack: from modeling in ETABS, STAAD Pro, RISA 3D, and SAP2000 to producing construction-ready drawings in AutoCAD and Revit, and applying AASHTO LRFD, ACI 318, and AISC 360 standards.

Career

Professional Experience

Graduate Research Assistant May 2025 – Present
Texas A&M Transportation Institute, College Station, TX
  • Executed pull-out and cyclic tension tests on 40+ adhesive anchor bars for a TxDOT research program; instrumented specimens with fiber optic sensors to capture real-time strain behavior under service and ultimate force conditions.
  • Applied image analysis to quantify concrete-epoxy bond quality, reducing interpretation time by ~30%; categorized 3 failure modes (cone breakout, splitting, bond failure) to inform TxDOT compliant anchor design specs for CRCP.
  • Compiled experimental findings into structured TxDOT technical reports supporting CRCP decision-making on adhesive anchor performance and installation standards.
Quality Assistant Engineer Jul. 2023 – Apr. 2024
CCTEB India Pvt. Ltd, India  ·  STAAD Pro, ETABS, Revit
  • Designed and modeled structural frame systems for 5+ small utility buildings using STAAD Pro and ETABS; performed member sizing, force combination checks, and connection design per IS codes ensuring structural adequacy and compliance.
  • Directed on-site QA/QC operations across 3 concurrent projects, enforcing corrective measures that attained 100% compliance with quality standards and zero major NCRs.
  • Processed and resolved 50+ RFIs and submittals attaining 15% faster turnaround than benchmarks; led 10+ preconstruction meetings to align 20+ stakeholders on structural scope and execution strategy.
  • Awarded Outstanding Youth Performer by CCTEB India Pvt. Ltd. in recognition of exceptional contributions.
Quality Assistant Engineer (Intern) Dec. 2021 – Jan. 2022
Unity Build Tech India Pvt. Ltd, India  ·  AutoCAD, Revit
  • Prepared 15+ AutoCAD/Revit structural drawings including as-built documentation for an industrial building.
  • Conducted site compliance reviews identifying column plumb misalignments before concrete placement, preventing costly rework.

Selected Work

Academic Projects

AutoCAD · Excel · AASHTO LRFD

Prestressed Concrete Bridge Girder Design

Designed a three-span prestressed concrete girder bridge (120–140–120 ft) per AASHTO LRFD. Optimized tendon profile to reduce prestress losses by 12% and produced AutoCAD drawings for all girder cross-sections and anchorage zones.

RISA 3D · AISC · ASTM

Rooftop Parking Deck Collapse Investigation

Assessed force distribution, girder/connection capacity, and material properties per AISC & ASTM standards. Identified flexural overload and local buckling as failure causes and developed 3 design improvement recommendations.

STAAD Pro · Newmark-Beta · Runge-Kutta

Dynamic Response of Steel Moment Frame

Modeled a 3-story steel moment frame using CSM/DOF models. Applied Newmark-Beta and Runge-Kutta integration to evaluate displacement, inter-story drift, and stiffness degradation — achieving <5% error vs. closed-form solutions.
